AAPS to Co-Sponsor SBS Biopharmaceuticals Symposium
22 Jan 2010: The Society for Biomolecular Sciences (SBS) announced that the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) will co-sponsor the upcoming SBS symposium, Biopharmaceuticals: Exploring Synergies Across Drug Formats in San Francisco, Ca in May 2010. The SBS symposium will take place at the San Francisco Hilton Union Square, the same location as the 2010 AAPS National Biotechnology Conference.

AACC Calls for Poster Abstracts for 2010 Annual Meeting
02 Dec 2009: The American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) announces that its 2010 Annual Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo will be held July 25-29, 2010 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA. As part of the preparations for the meeting, AACC has issued an invitation to submit poster abstracts for presentation.

China Leads All Nations in Publication of Chemical Patents
24 Nov 2009: Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) reports that China’s patent office is now the world’s leading producer of patent invention applications in chemistry. China trailed Japan’s patent office, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and the United States’ patent office (USPTO) for more than a decade, but passed the USPTO in 2005, WIPO in 2006, and exceeded Japan for the first time on a monthly basis in 2008.

09 Nov 2009: Analytica 2010, the 22nd International Trade Fair for Laboratory Technology, Analysis and Biotechnology, promises to be the most international analytica to date.  05 Nov 2009: Molecular Medicine Tri-Conference has announced the three keynote speakers for its Seventeenth Annual Conference, to be held in San Francisco this winter (Feb. 3-5). Thermo Fisher Scientific Names Recipients of RNAi Discovery Grants
29 Oct 2009: Thermo Fisher Scientific announces the recipients of more than $400,000 in RNA-interference (RNAi) reagents to advance biomedical research and drug discovery. The awards were made through the Thermo Scientific RNAi Discovery Grant Program. Five projects were chosen based on the potential of the research to advance science and medicine.

Pittcon Announces 2010 Technical Program
15 Oct 2009: The 2010 Technical Program listing of sessions is now available on the Pittcon website. The Technical Program begins on Sunday, February 28 and closes on Thursday, March 4, 2010 and will consist of 62 Symposia, 28 Organized Contributed Sessions, 120 Oral Sessions, 8 Workshops, 45 Conferee Networking Sessions, and 88 Poster Sessions.
